a thought for the moment...
"Sometimes I just can't help but cry
When I think of what we've become
Like a soldier lost in the night
Forgetting all where he has come from
But the mud will soon become dry
And the sun will rise again
And the shadows in our eyes
Will fade away down to lower plains
Cause' You have one wing and I have another
Seeking shelter like sister and brother
Through the winter and through the summer
Like one angel we'll
Fly far away "

In response to [info]hymnia,
I have a much larger collection of animated titles in general, but this is what I consider the 'anime' subset. I hope it is not considered heretical to include Avatar and Teen Titans in this selection. I know Animatrix is definitely a borderlined title, but one or two pieces allow it to fit.

Anime Series/mini-series:
The Animatrix
Avatar The Last Airbender – The Complete Book 1
Avatar The Last Airbender – The Complete Book 2
Black Cat: Box Set
Bleach – Season One Box Set (Original and Uncut)
Blue Submarine, No. 6: Anime Legends Complete Collection
Cowboy Bebop – Best Sessions
Cowboy Bebop Remix: Anime Legends (Complete Series)
Cowboy Bebop – The Movie
dot Hack//Sign – Anime Legends Complete Collection
dot.hack//SIGN – Vol. 1: Login
Escaflowne: Anime Legends Complete Collection
Naruto Uncut Boxed Set, Volume 1
Naruto Uncut Boxed Set, Volume 2
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Platinum Collection
Noein: To Your Other Self – The Complete Series
RahXephon Vol. 1 – Threshold
RahXephon Vol. 2 – Tonal Pattern
RahXephon Vol. 3 – Harmonic Convergence
Robotech – First Contact
Serial Experiments Lain – Navi (Layers 1–4) (Ge...
Teen Titans – The Complete First Season
Teen Titans – The Complete Second Season
Teen Titans – The Complete Third Season
Teen Titans – The Complete Fourth Season
Teen Titans – The Complete Fifth Season
Teen Titans – Trouble in Tokyo (Original Movie)
Wolf's Rain: Anime Legends Complete Collection 1
Wolf's Rain: Anime Legends Complete Collection 2

Howl's Moving Castle
Metropolis
My Neighbor Totoro

So, I went on another hut of curiosity for the state of this album I've been trying to find: Transformers: The Score.
Walmart, Best Buy, Target and all other standards for finding music, INCLUDING VIRGIN MEGASTORE... don't have it. They all have "the album".. you know, that standard sell-out practice of collecting a bunch of pop/alternative songs that may or may not have been in the movie. Sure, those things can be great for exposing you to some of the new artists out there... like Evanescence on the Dare Devil soundtrack. But, the whole purpose of buying a soundtrack album is to hear the artwork created by the score writer. In this case, it is Steve Jablonski. You may have heard his work in movies like Batman Begins, and the lesser-known Steamboy (awesome movie if you have not seen it). In all of those cases, you will hear the character sound that is Jablonski. If you like the deep warm sound of the train sequence in Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe, you will LOVE jablonski.
Anyway, I write this post, not only because this score truly is beautiful, but because it is now becoming even more of a rare find. In the beginning, this album wasn't even going to be published. But, due to the outcry of the adoring public, it was produced. And the writer went all-out to make an album-unique rendition with extended versions of some of the songs, and a remastering (since there aren't any other audio tracks or dialogue or sound effects going on). Then it was released. None of the standard stores for music carried it, as they all think all people want is that forlorn thing called "the album" instead of "the score". Amazon had it, though. iTunes had it, but it was an uncharacteristic 16.99, and not in the iTunes Plus format... which, in my eyes, isn't worth buying unless it's iTunes Plus (no DRM, and much higher quality).
Then, it happened. I looked on Amazon, and they were no longer carrying the CD version. You could buy "new or used" from "other resellers" with the lowest price being 79.99!!
Amazon, though, did something else... something... good.
THEY have the DRM-Free, high-quality mp3 version for $14! needless to say, I wasted no more time.
I am listening to it now... it is... VERAH NICE'eh.

I would suggest those of you who hold a special place in your heart for the best of the soundtracks (can anyone say "Gladiator"?) should make haste and acquire themselves a version of this before it truly goes *poof*.

Hey guys,
yeah, as usual, it's been a while. My main final paper for my summer semester is due tomorrow night, followed by a few other overdue projects, and then the next semester starts in but a week or so.

BUT, the reason for this post, is sort of a fun little query Ash and I were passing back and forth after discussing the -ism "apple of his eye".

"Where do you think you think?"
This is to say, when you think, where do you "feel" yourself thinking?
This might be an absurd question, as some people may have never 'felt' themselves thinking. But, consider the fact that the people in the times of the Old Testament, for example, believed that their "Mind" was in their heart. They had no idea what the brain was for. If they had been asked this question, they would have pointed to their chest. Some people say that they feel it somewhere just behind their eyes... but then, I wonder what a blind person would say? Would they feel it between their ears?
This may also be a question of where you feel your soul abides? or do you feel it at all, or is it all-encompassing?

So I pass the question on to you:
"Where do YOU think you think?"

So, it has been, once again, nigh-unto too long since the last time I have posted anything to this LJ or the [info]thedennisi LJ.

So what's been going on since my last post some many months ago?

Well, to start things off, I am typing this post on my computer sitting on a desk someone gave us yesterday for our NEW APARTMENT in Viera (just north of Melbourne). about two weeks ago, we sat down and chewed away at our budget and my earnings at my NEW JOB at a place called SignAccess. I get paid much more than I did at the print shop, and the general morale is much much better there. I also get to play with Adobe Illustrator all day long. I love that program. It is a pretty program.
As it is, our budget will still be extremely tight, but we were able to pull it off. We've been wanting to get out of the father-in-law's house for quite some time, almost going stir crazy while we lived and slept in our storage room.. erm.. I mean.. bed room.

Elijah is now 17mos old (yeah, they DO grow quick, don't they??). He's the most curious thing and currently has a burning passion for opening and closing and opening and closing every door he can find. Those baby latches for cupboards annoy him to no end.

I'd like to share more, but I'm already way past my bedtime.

shalom, ya'll!

Hey guys,
my grandmother (father's mother) died last night at 1am. We've been expecting it, so it is no sudden shock.
But, this will require me to be away from the computer for about a week. My wife and I (along with our wee one) will be traveling to my parent's house tonight, and then head up to Winston-Salem, NC tomorrow. The family will be traveling back on thursday, and us back home on Friday.

Keep the family in prayer, and thank God for releasing my grandmother from her struggling fleshly vessel.

She was an awesome woman of God with a history that went from the hard-core bottle, to the hard-core Bible. She has been an intercessor, caretaker, shelter providor, and leader. She was wonderful to talk to about all aspects of life (especially the personal, spiritual, and relational), and loved life and God with a fervor. She is most likely adding a joyous voice to the chorus in heaven right now.

Praise God for her new freedom!
See ya'll at the end of the week.
